Thinking Redefined

I read this thing,

"When Manirathnam(the film maker) was approached by kamalahasan (multi faceted actor) representative to do a remake of a hindi movie in the 1985- 90s period, Manirathnam want to refuse it, So he went to the actor to refuse the idea, So when he said to kamalahasan that he will not interested in doing the movie. Kamalahasan inturn asked then what kind of movies would you like to do, There came the birth of Nayagan (The Hero)". - I read this passage (what i perceived from the book, not the actual phrase) from the "Conversations from Manirathnam" Book.

How this redefined my thinking.

Today for one of my colleague and a friend i thought of giving a chocolate for his birthday. I bought the chocolate but i was not sure whether he liked chocolates.

So instead of forcing him to eat what i thought he may like, I asked him would he be interested to have a chocolate.

He said "Yes".

Even if he had said "No", I might not have felt bad, I might have went ahead and tried something else which he may like and not what i like. Because giving is important, but more than that i would like to give what he likes and not what i like. Kudos.

This thought of asking "whether he would be interested" was never in my dictionary of thoughts.

Now it has got redefined by the influence of my admirers.
